ACTIVITIES by National Gatka Association of India (NGAI) and International Sikh Martial Art Academy (ISMAA)
- Promoting Sikh martial art ‘Gatka’ as a recognized sport at national and international level by organizing district/state/national level tournaments through NGAI and ISMAA. In addition to this, conducting/assisting to conduct inter-zonal/inter-district/inter-state level and inter-college/inter-varsity level Gatka tournaments.
- Holding Gatka training camps, online training and refresher courses to train the players and develop them as Gatka Trainers/Coaches/resource persons.
- Supervising three advanced Gatka coaching & training centres in Punjab and Haryana.
- Providing Gatka rules books, Gatka equipments, clothing (Bana), T-shirts, shoes etc to Players/Trainers/Coaches/resource persons free of cost.
- Facilitating Gatka players to get gradation of their certificates from Punjab Sports department.
- Supervising activities of World Gatka Federation & Asian Gatka Federation for promotion of Gatka at international level besides conducting tournaments/camps in other countries.
- Efforts are going on to establish a state of the art ISMAA academy in Punjab for providing best training to coaches.
- Third edition of ‘Gatka Rules and Regulations Book’ of National Gatka Association of India is under editing besides its Punjabi edition.
OTHER EFFORTS
- Promoting Sabat-soorat (Keshadhari) footballers and teams through Khalsa Football Club (Khalsa FC) and Global Sikh Sports Federation.
- Second Sikh Football Cup will be held after selecting Keshadhari teams from all 22 districts of Punjab and Chandigarh.
- Making efforts to promote and create awareness about mother tongue Punjabi language through Punjabi Cultural Council.
- Creating awareness about organ donor movement among the public through Global Organ Donors Foundation.
- Promoting cause of PR fraternity through Public Relations Society of India (Chandigarh Chapter).
